Detroit Winter Blast 2017
Went shooting today at the Detroit Winter Blast. We were there around 12:00 noon and the outside temperature was already approaching 50 degrees. Not much winter, but a blast anyway.
Here’s a young skater zipping around the Campus Martius rink.
Winter Blast is held at Campus Martius in the heart of Detroit every year in January.
The heart of Campus Martius and Downtown Detroit.
Another shot of the fountain.
The ice sculptures were starting to melt, especially King Kong.
Tons of food vendors lined the skating rink and surrounding area.
There were fire pits to roast marshmallows.
That people really like.
Here’s the Mystic Kettle People- the stuff is great and I wish we would have bought more.
The popular Winter Slide for kids.
Had to get at least one black and white artistic shot in…
It’s a great place to hang out and have fun on a January weekend, even if it is 50 plus degrees!
